CERITA #23: SOUL FOOD IN EDINBURGH

Reading time: 3 minutes

Horas.

It's good to share what I've just done tonight.

We did Soul Food tonight at The Well Cafe. Do please go further to https://www.edinburghcitymission.org.uk/ if you'd like to know more about who's behind this event.

I would say, it's great to share with others, meet new people, and mingle for about 2 hours.

There are seven teams*, namely:

1. Cook team: Miles Libke, Heather Elliot, Joann Sproule, and Diane Kambanei.
2. Serving team: Paula Gibb, Kingsley Jones, and Indah Pasaribu.
3. Cleaning team: Amee Scott, Elle Platt, and Jayne Murdoch.
4. Set up/pack down team: Felix Trimbos, Sandra Ackinsola, and Monique Pitlo.
5. Coffee and tea team: Solveig Leuvrais, Morag Milne, and Fern Buller.
6. Hosting team: Hilda Warwick, Sandra Ackinsola, Hazel Harris, and Jess Mcniff.
7. Welcome team: Rosie Morrison, Sarah Kirkland, and Ally Collins.

I was assigned at Serving team, with
Paula Gibb and Kingsley Jones. So, we basically served food (main course and dessert) to people. By the way, everyone is welcomed. And yes, people can be anyone anybody whoever however etc etc.

Here is the rundown:

1. 5.00 pm: get started and prayed together;
2. 5.30 pm: welcomed people + grabbed coffee/tea/milk/etc;
3. 5.45 pm: served meal (main course);
4. 6.30 pm: served dessert;
5. 7.00 pm: packed down stuffs and prayed together;
6. ~ pm: cleaned the venue and plates etc etc.

We served about 23 people in all. Well, what I love the most is when we could do something small (or maybe insignificant) individually, yet altogether we do something great.

Finally, we do it all for Jesus and
would be happy to see you joining us next week.

Warm regards,

Indah Pasaribu
